The plane service USS Harry S. Truman was in a collision with a service provider vessel within the Mediterranean Sea close to Egypt, the Navy stated Thursday. There have been no studies of accidents or flooding after the collision, a Navy spokesperson stated in a press release.
The collision occurred late Wednesday night time close to Port Stated, Egypt, in accordance with a press release from Navy Cmdr. Timothy Gorman, a spokesperson for the sixth Fleet.
The collision is beneath investigation.
The Truman was approaching the Suez Canal to go from the Mediterranean Sea to the Purple Sea, a Navy official advised CBS Information. There is not any evaluation presently which vessel was at fault, the official stated.
The Truman sustained some injury above the waterline, the official stated. It wasn’t clear if it is going to be getting in for repairs.
The service’s propulsion wasn’t affected by the collision, the official stated.

The service’s strike group was within the japanese Mediterranean after about two months of fight operations in U.S. Central Command’s space of accountability, which incorporates elements of the Center East, in accordance with the 2nd Fleet.
