ROME — An avalanche hit a gaggle of 5 skiers in Italy’s northern Piedmont area on Sunday, killing three of them, rescuers mentioned.
Two survived and had been transported to the hospital by helicopter.
The avalanche hit round noon on the japanese face of Punta Valgrande, a summit on the border between Italy and Switzerland.
The skiers who died had been dragged downhill for a number of hundred metres (yards), struggling deadly accidents.
An alert had been issued within the space above 2,100 metres (6,900 toes), warning of “appreciable hazard of avalanches.”
